Allow me a moment of immodesty.
This is the cover of the August-September 2011 issue of Fully Booked’s Zine. And yes, that’s me on the front. It’s my very first cover and I’m so proud of how it’s turned out.
Paul Mondok shot all the photos of me, and my friend and fellow writer Yvette U. Tan wrote the cover story. She’s done a bang-up job of capturing who I am in the lengthy 3-page interview where I talk about how I got into food writing, how long it takes me to compose a blog post (now you’ll know why I can’t post everyday!), why I won’t accept restaurant freebies, and even what I do to stay fit.
The article also talks about the plans that I have for my DCF readers as the upcoming brand ambassador of Fully Booked. (SO exciting, and November is the big-event-month to watch out for).
I’ve also written an article for this issue where I reveal: “My Five Favorite Home Bakers, My Five Favorite Food Purveyors.”
All in all, I hope you’ll get yourself a copy of this issue, it’s an incredible read. The Fully Booked Zine is available for FREE at all Fully Booked stores.
Bravo! Congratulations Lori…you look fabulous! Love the FB magazine 🙂 Looking forward to what else is in store for November (clues??) 🙂
Congrats Lori! Hope I can get a copy of that magazine before it goes out of stock. 🙂
Lori, I’ve always been a fan of your impeccable writing and reliable palate, but I must add that I adore your fashion sense as well. 😀
Sweet Cover! 😉
We’re not Worthy! We’re not Worthy!!!

Mam Lori, Paul Mondok really caught your best angle…medyo hawig kay Iwa Moto yung cover…of which my fellow lurkers will agree…hoping i could get a copy..Mam, wala bang .pdf file nito na downloadable for us away from home??
You clean up really good Lori! Very nice cover. Armed with your palate, wit, and with fashion sense to boot, you truly have what it takes to rock the world. Keep shinin!=)
Woot! November! DCF readers!
*keeping my mouth shut now* *grins*
Congrats Lori! 🙂
*bekimon exclamation of praise* 😉
I got the last copy at Fully Booked BHS yesterday 🙂 Yehey! The interview was well written and as your genuine passion (perhaps it’s more of a childlike giddiness) for food AND writing jumps out of the pages. I swear I could hear you swoon and giggle as I read the feature!
So sad I already missed the Food Photography workshop and I will be missing out something in November 🙁
Congrats on the feature my Foodie Idol!
You know me…starstruck fan girl ;p
I’m even interested to know what power circuit work out you do at home. I love food but I still want to be be healthy enough. If that is possible. I think it is.
just want to let you know ms lori that your mindful writing is very much appreciated. just because one doesn’t have an editor doesn’t mean a blog should be haphazardly written. your carefully selected prose reads like poetry at times 🙂
now there’s more to look forward to november (being kicked off by halloween!)
Must get to FB soon — this may be their most popular issue yet, so I wouldn’t want them to run out! Excited for November! 🙂
Congratulations, Lori! Thanks for giving me an excuse to visit Fully Booked; I’ve been staying out of it because I always end up buying something, and I already have more books than I can finish in this lifetime! Anyway, Shangri La branch then. LOVE the tiramisu from the cafe there. Congratulations again!
congratulations!!!
“upcoming brand ambassador of Fully Booked”. WOW! Congrat Ms Lori! Can’t wait to grab a copy!
You look like dessert!
Now I know why I was getting pulled to enter Fully Booked last Sunday! Will get my copy 🙂
