There’s a new Magnum in town and it’s a powerhouse, a combination of two favorites.
I guess there was no point in delaying the delivery of the next Magnum variant. After all the mania surrounding this chocolate-encrusted wonder bar on a stick, it would only make sense to go from one sweet salivation to the next. What a winner this one is, I daresay that it’s become my favorite. Take a hike, Almond, you’ve been replaced.
The newest Magnum variant is Choco-Cappuccino and let me tell you, it doesn’t play coy. As soon as I ease it out from its wrapper, my eyes are immediately riveted on its shell: an eternity of chocolate dotted with … nuts? A mysterious garnish of sorts? There’s only one way to find out.
As if a bar of Magnum didn’t already have enough moxie with chocolate, coffee is now combined for one-two irresistibility in the Choco-Cappuccino. I take a bite, my ears perk up at the now-familiar crack! of a chocolate shell interrupted, and my nose is tickled by the aroma of coffee wafting heavenwards. Crack!-Crunch!-Crackle! These are not nuts, but shards of sugar pieces that stud the body of this icy beauty. Vanilla, creamy and dreamy, surges forth but not for long. Swirling within it is a coffee sauce, its flavor sharp and bright, forged from coffee beans grown and selected in Colombia.
As is typical of a Magnum bar, it’s not long before it starts to melt. If it begins to do so, then it means I’m not eating it fast enough. Already, it’s beading up in anticipation of being bitten into. Again. But allow me to stay in this sustained pleasurable period. It’s where coffee and chocolate please me with their perfume while studs of sugar sing a soundtrack in the note of bliss.
Magnum Choco-Cappuccino available soon for P50 in stores near you, but I’ve nabbed a few in some 7-11 stores already.
