I’m excited to announce The Power of Pen, a food writing workshop to be held next week. This is the very first food writing workshop that gathers some of the leading food writers and artists in the country who will discuss a wide variety of food-writing-related topics: a general overview of food writing, recipe writing, travel and feature writing, restaurant reviewing, and even food photography. (See complete schedule below). I’m proud and honored to be part of this group as well, many of who are colleagues and friends of mine. I’ve been asked to speak on Blogging About Food, the last topic of the workshop.
Writing materials will be provided for by Faber-Castell, while lunch and snacks will be catered by Red Chef headed by Chef Mike Profeta, so participants will be “armed” and well-fed. The first day of the workshop will be especially exciting with the opening keynote speech to be delivered by Tourism Secretary Ace Durano.
If you wonder if you could be a food writer, or just want to write about food, or if you already write about food but want to do it better, then I can’t recommend this workshop enough. The knowledge you’ll come away with is immense! I myself will be there for the whole two days as a participant because for me, learning to better my craft never stops.
