I’m sitting in a mozzarella bar in the Piazza Duomo reminiscing about my vacation here in Italy. What i eat for my very first meal in this country is also what I choose to eat for my last meal here. In a few hours, I catch a plane back home.
This is a plate of two kinds of mozzarella. In the bowl is stracciatella di Burrata, creamy and sweet. The succulent white dome on the plate is a Bufala Classica Pontina, strong and moist. It’s swathed in slices of Prosciutto Crudo di San Daniele, a sweet and soft cured ham.
As I eat and sip my glass of Gewurtztraminer, I realize I’m excited to go home, even if I’ve got a mountain of work waiting for me.
Thanks for coming with me on my Italian journey. My posts on Italy coming soon.

Wow. Gewurtztraminer. I was able to try this in France though, when I was at the Alsace region, near Strasbourg. Looking forward to reading your posts. You make me really, really miss Italy. 🙂
Wow, didn’t know that such a bar existed. Cool. Have a safe flight home. 🙂
THAT is a beautiful dome of cheese. Everything on that plate looks so fresh and alive! You can almost taste the juices, hear the crunch, feel the saltiness. I love Italy and their ingredients.
Obika!! I remember their olive oil being really good. 🙂
