Let’s inject some humor into this Monday, shall we?
Note: M.I.Y.O. Monday stands for Make It Your Own Monday, a question thrown out to DCF readers every Monday to jumpstart the week with lively interaction. I also welcome questions and suggestions for future MIYO Mondays. Email me.
Pinoys have a penchant for humor, and they’re very good at it. When it comes to signs and anything visual, they display killer-creative skill on copy that can be witty, charming, and at turns stealthily executed puns and double entendres. Remember all the memes that people came up with to begin the DOT slogan “________ is more fun in the Philippines?” My favorite, of course food-related, from the ones I’ve seen is this:

And I remember the pancit stall called “Pancit ng Taga Malaboni” that I passed by – where else? – along Boni some years ago. Some of my other favorite signs that I’m lucky enough to have photos of are the following:
Love these signs from Ya Kun in Singapore.
So tell me: What are some of the funnier food signs, restaurant names, etc., that you remember? List ‘em in the Comments section below or post a photo if you’ve got one. And don’t worry if your comment or photo doesn’t show up right away. It may just have gotten caught in the Spam folder.
