Food52 is one of those hugely popular US-based food websites that I’m a fan of, so you can imagine how astounded I was when one of its editors emails me, “I am a huge fan of your site and I’m wondering if you would be interested in contributing!” She’d seen my initial post about cookie butter that I posted last year, and she expressed interest in my doing an updated version of it. “Speculoos cookie butter is really popular right now, so [I] feel that it would appeal more to our audience,” I’m told.
As a food writer and food photographer, it’s an enormous thrill to contribute my work to other platforms, and especially to a website such as Food52. The recipe that I redeveloped for them is even better than the initial recipe I created back in 2013, plus I’ve added step by step photos. It’s featured in their Small Batch category, a column featuring recipes for small batches of foods that are traditionally purchased.
