I've finally tried Tsumura. Compared to Nanohana which is at Cosmopolitan Tower , s few buildings from 88 Corporate Center, I would have to say that I like Nanohana better. The food there is more flavorful yet still as authentic. Also, their prices are somewhat cheaper. You should try it and see for yourself. They are usually full during lunch.

yet another great entry...burger avenue is something we've been dying to try out! Tsumura is a wonderful place ( though their tempura will never compare to Sugi!) i was intrigued by your entry re Basilio's, as the first time I went there a month ago, half the menu items were not available, and the service not to par. i hope things have improved as we had high expectations for the place, and we were sadly disappointed!

I love Tsumura! They serve the best sushi and it's true that their Japanese food is probably one of the most authentic in Manila. Mamou's steak is also a favorite, and although it naturally pales by comparison to US steaks, it is still far better than some of the pricier steaks I've tried here.

I love this post... Informative, honest, and as usual, very well-written. Cheers, Lori!

I agree. Mamou's steak has way too much "litid" for my taste. Not anywhere close to Luger's!

I also love the CPK Oriental Salad! I found a recipe for the dressing online (google: CPK Oriental Chicken Salad) and it's super close! So now I just make it at home with grilled chicken and fried wantons.

I think they cut the steak as soon as it was off the grill that's why you get a pool of liquid. Steak should be rested for 10 to 15 mins Next time you order their steak, try asking them not to cut it.

Hi Lori,

I'm also getting addicted to the burgers of Burger Avenue. The blue cheese burger for only about P120 is worth every bite.
