i remember those siphon pots at panciteria lido. my dad used to spend his afternoons there just hanging out, drinking coffee and occasionally holding "business meetings" there. the lido coffee is simply delightful. it shaped my impression of how coffee should taste like.

I saw this book at Powerbooks over the weekend. I especially enjoyed the photographs of coffee served in those beautiful recycled instant coffee jars.

I tried to post a comment earlier but there seemed to be an error. If this is a double comment I apologize ahead of time. What I wanted to say....

Great Post! I've been looking for information about Filipino for some time now. I've heard of kapeng barako but have never had it before. This is very intriguing and I wish I could get my hands on this book. In your opinion what's the state of coffee that's produced in the Philippines compared to others in the world?

Great Post! I've been wondering about Filipino coffee for a long time. I've always heard about kapeng barako but don't know too much about it. It would be interesting to learn more about the different coffees produced in the Philippines. Do you have any more suggestions on information about Filipino coffee?
