Hi Lori, you know that I am a fan of Vinley.vox.com and of course i enjoy reading your blog. Drinking coffee is exciting especially if you grind your own blend of coffee beans. Be it from our good barako to costa rican bean (which I love most),kona, columbian coffee bean ,etc and brew it to which ever way you want it.
Good luck to your coffee brewing experience. A good coffee makes my day!

Hi Lory, I'm a fans of your blog. I almost read your blog everyday, sometimes 2 times in a day :) , along with some other food blog that I love. As I am a coffee lover as well, this post really interest me, yet I don't know since about 3 weeks ago, I can't see quite a lot of your photos in normal size. Too bad, it's look like it has been compressed. Anybody knows what happened? Sorry, never been a brainer in this area... :(

i think a lot of people start out as coffee novices, knowing nothing better than the trusty old instant coffee. starbucks did break ground by establishing a coffee culture here in RP. i simply love the dark, strong flavor of our homegrown barako, and the smell it throws in the air while brewing is something i look forward to every jolly morning. perfect topic, lori!

Hi Lori!

I 've always been a fan of yours (not suprising for a dessert freak like me), and after this coffee post, I'm sure my boyfriend will be a fan, too. ;-)

Please do share about the book, maybe it could change the mind of a non-coffee drinker like me.

I'm loving this topic, Lori! I'm a coffee fan, myself. I even handled a coffee account years ago and had to read up on it. I adore anything coffee-flavored, so I'll take it hot, cold, in ice cream, in cakes, even on savory food -- so I'm not a snob about Frappuccinos. However, when the coffee's really good, I don't put anything in it, not even sugar. So, YAY for your graduating from lattes! ;-) As for Coffee-Mate...I'd use it only when the coffee NEEDS to be disguised.

Just a question (absolutely no judgment intended, I really want to know): So, if it isn't true about coffee stunting growth, is there no reason to be concerned about kids drinking coffee? What about the effect of caffeine on them? F grew up drinking coffee every day the way we had hot chocolate; his mom, who's from Europe, thought nothing of it. But it's difficult for me to reconcile that with what I was taught growing up. Is it really okay for children to drink coffee? (By the way, I don't think kids should drink lots of soda, either. Oh, and although it might mean nothing, F is not tall. ;-))

I'm excited to read what this book is, and about your growing appreciation of this heavenly brew! :-)

Mmm, I love coffee. It's my absolute favorite drink. (But I think coffee with creamer is disgusting. Hahaha.) I'm looking forward to your next coffee post. :)
