Lori, I can totally understand, just cause it's an inanimate object doesn't mean you can't get attached to it. I have an old manual SLR I haven't used in over 2 years since I bought a digital camera, and I feel horribly guilty about it. It sits in my closet lonely and abandoned. I have thought about selling it, but it has some sentimental value because I bought it in Spain and so it took some of my most favorite pictures during my trip there and to Italy.

Mourn, it may not have had a heart, but it was an extension of you. Especially as it was a trustworthy camera.
(Have to say that I had to fiddle with the school's G2 recently and it's not a good camera to have during an urgent event in the hands of a G2 newbie! I had to keep fiddling with those letters trying to find the setting just right for the lighting.)

Welcome back, Lori!

Gee, you are one hard habit to break - you got me checking out your site daily since last Monday hoping your hiatus has already abated.

I completely commiserate with your trusty camera's untimely retirement. My Canon Powershot A90 (which has given us more than two years of nifty immortalization of "Kodak" moments) is currently in the service center for a lens sensor replacement. Though they are charging me zilch because the problem is an apparent product defect (which has triggered last year a regional recall of this particular model series), it has annoyingly disrupted for three weeks now (due to the wait for the unavailable imported spare parts) my affinity for constantly capturing family memories in digital format. That's why your situation is understandably frustrating.

But I'm confident (just like scores of other LORIastes out there) that you'll graciously move on and continue with your passionately saccharine blogging. Like I said, you - and yours - is a hard habit to break.
