Welcome to the new home of Dessert Comes First!

Yup, I’ve gone and done it: Dessert Comes First is now officially a dotcom! This is a project that I’ve been working on for a few months now and it’s exhilarating to finally be here. Like any new home, there are kinks that still need to be fixed, and both you and I will need some time to get used to the new set-up. A lot has changed, but as you can see, a lot has remained the same: the font, the color scheme, the links above. You’ll see more changes as I get into the groove of this new website, but rest assured that Dessert Comes First will be even better than before.

My previous posts from 2001-Feb 2006 (all 380+ of them) will remain at my old address and so will the index. For the new stuff from hereon in, look to this new address.

Again, welcome to my new home! This is a spectacular birthday gift to myself.

  1. Wow. congrats!

Hope you put up a generic RSS feed, can’t see you through my bloglines feeder yet.

But I’m happy you’re a dot com! I can’t access blogspot through the office, so I have to wait till I get home to see the scrumptious pictures!

  42. Hi, I really really enjoyed reading your blog and of course looking at the photos!! I am a food addict especially ‘real pinoy’ food. Those photos of kakanins in the bilao reminds me of my childhood, going to the church and afterwards get myself a treat of maja blanco and the one that is steamed glutinous rice in banana leaves then you dip in sugar and grated coconut, so yum! Anyway, now next time i come back to the Philippines, Binondo will surely be one of my destination:-)

    Congratulations!

  43. Hi Lori. I greatly enjoy reading your blogs. However, I discovered that the typesize has been “reduced” that I am experiencing some sort of eyestrain reading the contents of your new website. Maybe you could restore the typesize to what it was before. Thanks.

  44. Congratulations on the .com, Lori! wow i didn’t know this was supposed to be a surprise… :) i had first dibs pala(sort of) when you told me during the interview. belated happy birthday too!

  45. CONGRATULATIONS! I never miss a day without browsing your site. It is a new milestone not only for yourself but for us your readers. I had read good blogs by your counterparts but the touch of femininity is what is lacking in the others. The female touch is different from a male! It is a balance reading yours and your fellow blogger. It is good that a new breed of Filipinos are now here to share their expertise not only in writing, photography and taste for fine dining. I had learned alot also about travelling. Though I had been to those places, they are added knowledge on our part.
