Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand.

Lori, I met Rocco DiSpirito at a party in my friend’s restaurant Suba in New York and at a taping of his series, The Restaurant. Union Pacific (his place) is my ultimate favorite restaurant in New York, with Mario Batali’s Babbo a close second and Daniel Boulud’s Cafe Boulud third. Not only is the man wonderful eye candy, HE CAN DEFINITELY COOK. Love your job and I envy you, in a good way. Your blog allows me to live vicariously through you without getting stuck with all the calories I have to burn off. Thank you for making that possible!

That foie gras dish with risotto…OOOOHHHH!!! People who believe they have the “best job in the world” are enormously lucky — and I’m SURE you know that!

I had caper berries for the first time too, recently…glad to hear I’m in good company! I saw them at Heat (one of the few things there I was happy about). When the server told me what they were, I took several and was delighted with how they tasted and looked inside, with all the tiny seeds.
