Okay, this makes me want to spiff up my "lazy" pie -- ie, ready made crust with Bisquik topping.

I am not exaggerating when I say this is the BEST(-looking, can't taste it unfortunately) cobbler I have ever seen, by far! Biscuits instead of streusel or crust (love those, but love biscuits more), hazelnuts (my favorite nut) in the dough, and best of all, plums & nectarines instead of the usual apples inside! And for breakfast, to boot! How could anyone have anything but a perfect day after this? :-)

I love this post! It talks about some of my favorite desserts in the world! It's no coincidence some of my recent posts are about crisps and crumbles.

I bought a back-isse of Martha Stewart Living which features cobblers/crisps/crumbles in all its forms. I'm going to attempt some of those old-fashioned recipes she included with the article.

my god, cobblers and shortcakes! COBBLERS AND SHORTCAKES! i really don't get how bakeshops sell strawberry shrotcakes when they arent shortcakes at all. they're bloody cakes! i only came upon some really good(arguably; i have no other basis for comparison) strawberry shortcakes in cafe by the ruins all the way in baguio! they use fresh biscuits and pour some sweet syrup on them so the biscuits become sweet and moist...ready to take in the cream and fruit. but i have to say this cobbler looks great. and a great deal more sophisticated, haha. tried the scones recipe. heavy as bricks the day after but i love 'em

YUM! Always great to read your blog first thing in the morning when I have the whole day to ease cravings (as opposed to late at night when I usually get to blog hop and can't do anything but starve!) :)

I am still dreaming of your scones...the recipe from the baking demo is sitting right here at my desk just waiting to unleash its goodness...soon, soon

You know, I had never heard of a cobbler made with "biscuits" until I grew up. My grandmother and mother always made cobblers the much more doughy way, which I still prefer for nostalgic reasons, but for serving purposes I love this kind!

And peach is my favorite. Peach ANYTHING is my favorite!
