Supreme Sunday Sugar High (Part 1 of 3)
And so it goes that after two and a half months of planning, the Tea Party finally came to be. Instead of posting a write-up, I’m going to let the photos speak this time around. Feast on this for now and expect more photos shortly. All photos seen here were taken by my Bin. If you have any photos that you’d like to share, please send them my way and I’ll be sure to credit you. Click here if you’d like to view the entire (40 photos) Tea Party photostream, either as a slide show or one by one.
Thank you to everyone who was there! I hope you got enough sugar in your system to kickstart your week.
URGENT PLEA: One of the guests at the tea party lost a brown envelope containing a power- of-attorney document. If anyone took it by mistake or if anyone just happened to pick it up, please email me right away. This guest will be ever so grateful.

hungry crowd, plates at the ready

everyone wanted those Ghirardelli chocolate chip cookies…

… but I got first dibs at them. Mwahahahah.

Katrina always has the best get-up. Dig that Mad Hatter hat!

Carlos, ever the showgirl, during the raffle of cakes.

Thanks for having us! Everything was fantastically well-organised. =)
If you can believe it, after all those cakes we drove through a McDonalds for some fries and quarter-pounders. I think it was a need for something savoury after all those sweets. I guess dessert really does come first!

I’m still on a high after all that! Thanks for a fantastic time. I can’t wait for your next one.

everyone’s in high spirits yesterday despite the afternoon heat in the living room. if there was an opportunity for sugar indulgence, of excess, it was this tea party of lori baltazar. i had never seen anything like it: people staring at every dessert with eyes wide, chomping away at the selection in front of them. i myself had never experienced anything like it. i’m still feeling giddy and woozy.
those of us who didn’t win the raffle took home left over goodies so that those left at home can share in our joy. everyone’s a winner in this insanely mad sunday afternoon tea party! thanks much, lori!

Ola lori! Congratulations to you and the rest of the team for pulling off such a wonderfully unique event. Hats off to all the bakers–everything was yummy! So, my tonsillitis bedamned! I just had to take a bite of each and every dessert presented.
the pasta was good too, btw. My hubby and I are looking forward to the next event.

It was definitely an event to remember. Thank you Lori, Carlos and to the rest of the organizers for giving us such a wonderful treat yesterday.
My sister and I are so excited (and very much looking forward) to attend another “dessert show!” Congratulations for the success!

i think i’ve finally experienced heaven and hell!
just the sight of everything was heavenly. the desserts tasted divine. thanks lori for that superb event, it was dessert utopia!
then, just after i thought i had defied the concept of gluttony, my tummy sent me right to the abysmal fires of hell.
but it was all worth it!!!
ps
i’ve gotten weirder guesses about what the eggnog/cremebrulee pic i won in the raffle actually is– i.e. clam chowder!

Lori & Carlos, I canNOT thank you enough for organizing this! The intense humidity that afternoon couldn’t dampen people’s enthusiasm and enjoyment of the sublime desserts. I got the numbers and menus of the different bakers, and — far from my having had my fill of desserts for a while — I can’t wait to order my favorites!
An additional (and less fattening) thrill for me was meeting the talented bakers and fellow sugarholics. My one regret was I forgot to approach Karen Young; I wanted to tell her personally how much my family adores her Choc. Ganache Cake.
I also have to congratulate you for a well-organized event — there was none of the chaos I had feared. Everyone had their fill without having to compete. BRAVO!

P.S.
Bubut, I envy you SO! That’s always been one of my fave pics on Lori’s blog — and I’m not even fond of soft-boiled eggs. Lori, my friend said she ordered several of your pics. I’m tempted to as well, but I fear that displaying them at home would make it even MORE impossible for me to stick to my diet!

maybe you can just have it executed abroad then consularized there? – shane
