my chocolate cup runneth over

Good friend Kaie texted me over the weekend that I had “featured one week of chocolate lovin’” on my site. In her words, “…isang linggong pagmamahal,” in reference to those melodramas where love happens intensely in a short span of time. Somewhat puzzled by her message, I looked back over my most recent posts and saw indeed, that most of them were about or did include chocolate. It wasn’t intentional, and it isn’t going to stop anytime soon, I think.

Ah, the sweet life. I love it!

Still, it got me thinking if this bounty of chocolate has indeed made me a chocoholic. Would an increased inflow of this so-called ‘food of the gods’ into my already sugar-saturated body trigger a chocolate cataclysm of epic proportions?

Curious, I took the “Are you a chocoholic?” test. And failed victoriously. I am so relieved. Not that I have anything against chocoholics (may their tribe increase!) but I wouldn’t want to be, nor am I ready to be one. To be a slave to only one flavor in the rainbow of tastes in the dessert world??? Ay-yay-yay, impossible methinks. I must be a master of all and a slave to none of these tastes.

But I do love my chocolate.

Here, another gift of chocolate to me from a genuine chocoholic: Nestle Crunch miniatures in four flavors. Available at all SM Candy Corners.

Holy chocolate! I’m not alone in these cravings…. When did Manila get past the usual bibingkas and suman? ;-)

I came across your blog through another blogger who links to you (for due reason). Would you mind if I place your link on my blogspot as well?

Ooh-la-lovin’! Those are gorgeous looking tidbits! Keep the chocolate posts coming Lori :)

BTW, which pancake recipe in Cooks Illustrated did you mean as “the best”? Peeked at their website but there is more than one… :) Thanks!

Charmaine-
Sure thing — link away! :)

Joey-
Actually, if you have any of their “Best Recipe” books, it’s the one that just says ‘Pancakes.’ I don’t use the CI website because I’m not a member.

Midge-
I’ve already ordered. Check your inbox. :)

Yum! I was overjoyed to discover these chocolates also at SM a few weeks ago. i love SM’s Candy Corner, it’s also where I get Dark Nestle Crunch and Nestle Crunch Balls, plus of course Bunch-a-crunch which was reincarnated this year after being gone for a long time.

Yum, chocolate & peanut butter is one of my favorite combinations!

Lori, I want to give you a huge virtual hug from my family and me, for introducing us to Karen Young’s Choc.Ganache Cake! We’ve been disappointed by some famous chocolate cakes in the past — they simply weren’t rich and chocolatey enough for us. So when you described this cake as a “macho” chocolate cake, I knew we had to try it. Luckily, Karen Young is very near us. Well, it was quite literally love at first bite! It truly is one of the best chocolate cakes we’ve tried, better even than some much more expensive ones. THANK YOU from the deepest depths of our chocoholic hearts!

Now, I have to find an excuse to go to QC for Chocolat and Dulcelin…

The chocolate looks so good! I love milk chocolate and anything that has caramel in it, but I wouldn’t say I’m a chocoholic either.

[ I love your blog so much, by the way! ]
