After reading this posting, I asked a friend who was then in Manila to get a box of these chocolates to bring back. I am impressed by the workmanship, quality and taste of these products. Thanks, Lori for bringing to our attention notable food purveyors in the Philippines. I learned a lot from your postings.

After reading about this local chocolatier, I was hoping that it would live up to the ‘hype’. So, when I came for a visit and went out of my way to track the store down, unfortunately, it was just meh.

Kudos for trying and for incorporating some local flavors/ingredients.

In the 80′s I dreamed of becoming a Chocolatier, subscribing to a chocolate magazine with the same name. Somehow I got derailed and now work with patients rather than with chocolate. I’m so happy that we now have our own pinoy chocolatier. Can’t wait to try these treasures!

These chocolates are simply divine! I just keep coming back to the store. Purple yam, screwpine, jackfruit and jasmine tea rose … definitely my favorites. The guava variant needs a little more of the guava flavor though. What about a mango filled chocolate? Will that work?

Wonderful artice and interview. Raul seems like a very gifted and nice person, I appreciate his efforts to show the Asian/Filipino influence in his delicious art.
