Blue in Cheesecake

posted by in Home Bakers, Photo of the Day

I’ve run out of words; it might be the encroaching hibernation that December is known for. Whatever it is, I’m reviving my Photo of the Day, posts that are more photo-heavy than word-heavy.

Here’s a Blueberry Cheesecake made by Kim Gonzales of Kim is Hungry. Not as dense as its New York-style counterpart, it’s sufficiently creamy and for those on a budget, only costs P500 for a 9-incher.

  • Hi Lori! I recently had brunch at Fairmont and my favorite dessert was their Queso de Bola cheesecake. It was my first time to have a QDB cheesecake and I was wondering how it compares to others. Hope you could do a review of the different Queso de Bola cheesecakes available for sale from home bakers and restaurants/bakeshops. My only regret is that I was not able to take a photo!

    Hi Tin -
I’ve eaten at the Fairmont but haven’t tried their QdB cheesecake. Take a photo next time :) I’ve featured a few QdB cheesecakes on DCF: CRU Kitchen, Greg Guy, and Chef Ed Bugia shares a recipe for QdB bibingka souffle.

  • I bought a slice of this cake from InangBina’s and i was very disappointed. It doesnt taste or resemble the texture of a cheesecake at all. Id rather pay more for quality cheesecake.
